Qualicum Beach Digital Media Studio

Qualicum Beach Digital Media Studio

How does a small, Vancouver Island town become an attractive, growing creative marketplace? By offering big city assets like co-working space, peer networking and training. Patricia identified an opportunity to grow a talent base of creative workers in the region, in keeping with the Town’s cultural plan and Youth and Young Families Attraction Strategy, and thus The Qualicum Beach Digital Media Studio was born – a co-working space for the region’s growing base of creative workers to collaborate, connect and grow technology from idea to market.

We believe that cultural planning should be forward thinking and future proof. In keeping with the promise that our methodologies and expertise are always evolving and growing with the times, Patricia was selected to attend The Banff Centre, New Fundamentals: Leadership for Canada’s Creative Ecology residency program. Through the program, participants work with emerging leadership models, rooted in Indigenous teachings, to develop and shape how creative work will happen in the face of some of the sector’s future challenges which include increased connections to other sectors, a shift to digital creation and consumption, greater diversity in audiences and creators, and a lack of a clear path forward. Patricia incorporates these effective methodologies in the work we do.
