Patricia led the planning process and authored Create Victoria – The City of Victoria’s 5+ Year Arts and Culture Master Plan—a framework for the City’s future vision, policy and action plan for advancing cultural development as a “Creative City” which linked to economic, tourism, affordability and infrastructure planning.

District of Tofino Art Policy & Program

In 2014, the District of Tofino was approached by a group of citizens who encouraged the District to acquire the renowned “Weeping Cedar Woman” as a public art piece. Artist Godfrey Stephens was inspired to carve the “Weeping Cedar Woman” in 1984 to aid the protest against logging ancient rain forests of Clayoquot Sound and Meares Island. The artwork has come to symbolize the defining 1988 victory of the environmentalists to protect the Clayoquot Sound from logging.

Island Mountain Arts and Arts Wells, Advancement Plan

Patricia was engaged by the Island Mountain Arts Society to design their Advancement Plan that includes a full financial review process of the organization aimed to identify and create a more diversified portfolio of revenue streams. The plan was comprised of two overarching strategic orientations: Financial and Communications, and is based on an organizational readiness for change and focus. The end result was a comprehensive plan aligned with Island Mountain Arts’ marketing and development aims. The plan is currently being implemented.

Talk with the Town: Communications Plan

The Town of Qualicum Beach reached out to Patricia to create a communications plan that encourages open dialogue and participation, while helping the Town optimize communications with residents, staff and key stakeholders. Building on an initial communications audit, Patricia recognized that effective external communications begin with good internal practices. Collaborating with the Town staff to create an internal communications strategy, Patricia worked extensively with the community to generate recommendations for community engagement and consultation.
